Compare and Contrast

Walht - compare and contrast information from two articles to identify similarities and differences and then using that information to synthesize the key ideas that link to the values and skills of their sports codes.
Spyridon Louis and Pheidippides are both well-known Greeks and that involves them both running.

Pheidippides ran many hundreds of kilometers for aid. Louis, at the marathon, was committed and persevered to the role of a runner even though he knew the foreigners overpowered him. Pheidippides was famous because of his bravery, enduring the run of 250+ km to the Spartans for defence against the incoming Persians.

Maths - Graphs

Walht - create graphs using a spreadsheet and to analyse data in those displays.

This graph shows how much it had rained in a week. Across a 7 day period, the average rainfall was from  3.2mm with Monday and Wednesday having no rain at all. The rain rose from 0mm (Monday) to 6mm (Sunday), with 7mm being the highest mm of rain.

This graph shows how Emily had built up her weight-building throughout the year. She had gone from carrying 40kg (of muscle) in January up to 49kg in December. Through January - February, May - June and August - September, she had not gained any muscle. The most amount of muscle built was from September - October; when she had gained 2kg of muscle.

As William progressed through the weeks, he slowly becomes faster at typing, removing 6 minutes off his first time (16 minutes). Between week 2 -3, William had a struggle trying to type faster as he did not remove any minutes from his time.

Compare and Contrasting

Walht: compare and contrast information from two articles to identify similarities and differences and then using that information to synthesize the key ideas that link to the values and skills of their sports codes.
Pheidippides and Haley may have a few differences, but they have a few values they have in common. These include; confidence, role-model, courage and bravery. Confidence, courage, and bravery show for both of them as they both completed their task regarding the fact that it was a tough job. Haley, being scared of the high-bar, decided to befriend the high-bar (she was scared of the high-bar), while Pheidippides had run 250+ km for support from the Spartans. They were both role models at the end. The town for Pheidippides had celebrated the victory against the Persians and Haley’s Gymnastic team had cheered her for conquering the high-bar.

Sit Back And Relax with the New and Efficient Seed Life Jel-cket!

Image result for gelThe Seed Life Jel-cket is a caring parent for the plants that are a pain in the neck to care for. If you need a cheap plant starter kit, you can stop in your tracks right now!
The gel is carefully and specially made out of tiny syringes that ‘drug’ the plant. The certain drug doesn’t include any negative side effects; the plant will still grow healthily, live longer and will be as green as ever. The gel detects the difference between the surface of a mammal, plant and even fish (for safety reasons)! Worried about bugs and creepy crawlies? No worry, when given the ‘drug’, it is given an ability to produce its own pesticide, strong enough to kill bugs, but not enough to sicken humans. The smell, taste or look will not change during the production of the pesticide.
Interested? Well, there’s more! The gel is activated through contact with water for 15 minutes, where it will then release its syringe onto the seed. Because of its gel form, it’s willing to take the form of any seed, big or small doesn’t matter to the gel. Once sunk to the bottom of the water, the gel will communicate and teach the plant through electrical waves invisible to the naked eye. This is possible by the pain of drowning the seed, where it releases electrical waves, detectable by the gel and transferring back the seed’s waves into a different signal; teaching it when to stop and when to start drinking the water.

That’s not all! The gel becomes a special wetsuit for the plant! Giving proper space of oxygen and feeding it water, that’s right; water! As the drug is injected into the seed, it gives it the ability to convert water into food capable of giving extreme nutritional value to the plant. The gel absorbs the water and filters it using its skin, storing the inedible particles in its skin, but far away enough for the seed to prevent contact. As it ages, the gel will soon be made up mostly of contamination and gel; slowly breaking down with the water, as soon as this stage starts, the gel gives little amounts of contamination to the seed, where the amount of dirty water given to the plant is continuously built up until it is fully immune to the dirty particles. By this time, the seed will have opened to a sprout; being bare of the gel, floating at the skin of the water and having the knowledge to feed on its nasty/clean pool.
