Decimals and Times tables

In Room 8, we were learning how to use multiplication with decimals. When a decimal (think of a 4 digit number e.g. 56.78) point is in the middle and is times ed by 10, the decimal point will go back. The more you times the (by 10s or 100s) decimal, the more the decimal point will go backwards.

My special place to be!

Image result for river
The river with no name is known simply as Kariyan, which translated into English is river.

For me, this is an important place in the Philippines, one that I will always remember because that is where I used to swim, catch food and play with my friends. I also like the swings and slides in the water, easy to slip off but still fun.

Auntie and I would go there every weekend when it was hot. Every time we entered the reserve, we found cows eating the tall half-alive grass that was growing in the cracks created by the high temperatures. There were also  piles of smelly trash, beeping jeeps and bullfrogs tanning in the sun. It was like an oasis because it has dry land but a lot of water in the end.

In the water I usually swam in my underwear to find small fish and tiny sea snails. The fish have great speed but they cannot dodge our filters. These are made of metal and we use these to scoop up the fish when we run after them.

When it is evening we would go home to cook our findings. They are especially yummy with cooked and boiled drumstick tree leaves and soup. We usually celebrate some nights in the huts. These huts are where you can change and eat. These huts are in the water and they are made from dried bamboo and straw. A small, long wooden paddock leads to the huts.

The Mission Charism will continue throughout the world!

In Room 8, we were researching about Euphrasie Barbier and how she lived her life.

A harpy, a dream, a fiction.

When I was in bed dreaming, I had one of the most fascinating dreams in the world! I was asleep in my slumber dreaming, but within the dream I saw a cute little harpy hatch from an egg, it squawked like and eagle, and to my surprise, it was a tiny fierce birdie!

As soon as I found the harpy, I moved him into my house as my pet and named him Heather (because he had feathers). Each day, I would feed him mince chicken meat (or if I ran out, I would just give him pellets covered in cat food). As he grew, his feathers were fluffy and usually needed a feather cut.

When his wings were big enough, we flew off to the seven seas and usually glide there. However, one day, we flew off to the deepest of the seas in the world. There, we were hovering on the water. But as we were hovering, her feathers got wet and we fell in (I can't swim).

I tried crying for help in the water, but it just sounded like "blubber!". As the lights were disappearing. I saw her eyes closing and as I was almost dying, she let out a huge "SQUAWK!" That was her biggest squawk yet. As the squawk echoed around my body, the vibrations of the sound flew me off to the sky into the roof of our home.  I shed many manly tears and spread her ashes out to sea. There she will remember all the times we've been travelling out to sea.

As I continued to pack up her things, I checked the back of her pillows for messy feathers, but I found something else wonderful, it was an egg! I don't know when she laid the egg, but I was gladly surprised! A graceful resurrection! As I looked after it, it hatched and grew to a wonderful mighty bird, just like Heather!

Years passed by, I had total of 4,000 harpies living in my house!

As the 4,000th harpy laid the 4,001st harpy egg, it hatched gave a tiny squeaky squawk, but suddenly, boom! The largest squawk of them all! It even almost made my ears bleed. Sadly, I woke up to find that it was actually my annoying and noisy alarm clock! WOW! That was one mad alarm clock, what a way to wake up!
